How It Works
At Under the Sun Childcare, I am dedicated to creating a nurturing, stimulating and welcoming environment for all children. I combine early childhood education with environmental awareness and a touch of Gods word while always keeping the child’s best interest in mind and allowing for hands-on, experiential learning. I prepare my students for kindergarten through child-led and hands-on learning experiences where children can ask questions, explore materials and discover answers and solutions. I have big goals for my students – I want them to be life-long learners, creative problem solvers, caretakers of the earth and exceptional team players. Using our nature-based curriculum, my students spend a significant amount of time outside every day in groups learning and exploring with nature. Hello! A little about myself.. I am a wife, a mother to two fun little girls. I am a nature lover and love the outdoors. I love to ride horse, four wheeler and love hunting and fishing with my husband. I also love exploring and hiking! I also love to garden! I'm hoping to get a vegetable garden set up soon! My girls and the daycare children love to go to the garden to pick fresh veggies! They're usually carrying around and munching on some sort of pepper in the summers!
I opened my own daycare in 2017 while pregnant with my oldest daughter Eleanor. I wanted to stay home with her while still making an income. I fell in love with childcare and now my husband and I just finished building my dream daycare!
I've been a licensed provider in Chisago county since November of 2017. My family and I just moved to Zimmerman in the fall/winter of 2021. I am now a licensed provider in Sherburne county. I can't wait to start meeting and working with some amazing families!
